Orly Taitz

Most people have had the unfortunate experience of running into that sore loser who always wants rematch after rematch after rematch, but just keeps on losing and losing and losing and losing and ... well ... you get the picture. It happens in gaming all the time. Video games, card games, board games, you name it.
Obviously, it also happens in the courtroom.
By now, most o' ya's should know bits and pieces about infamous dentist and selachodamorph
Orly Taitz. One of my honourable followers said she should be made into an internet meme, but... the "orly" movement has already begun!
So yeah ... that said, on to more hilarity.
Selachodamorphic failure (pron. sell-a-choda-morfik fayl-yuhr) is a neologism deriving fromselachimorpha (meaning "shark", fig. "lawyer") + choad + epic failure. It is synonymous with chodal failure and can be used figuratively for when a hard-headed, argumentative person continually fights losing battles either out of ignorance or stupidity or both.
Since we're on a legal streak this week and mid-term elections just scraped American noses, might as well see what one of these selachodamorphic failures looks like.

Oh no, Halo Reach

Halo: Reach is the sixth game in the Halo franchise which, like most video game franchises, stops numbering sequel titles at some arbitrary point and starts inserting random words after a colon instead. So for instance the first sequel was called Halo 2, then there was Halo 3, then they decided to mix things up with Halo 3: ODST. Also there was an RTS called Halo Wars, even though all Halo games are about wars. But we digress.

We don't want to spoil the plot of the single-player mode, though Halo: Reach is a prequel to the original Halo, so if you have played any of the previous games you sort of know the ending (SPOILER: THE GOOD GUYS EVENTUALLY WIN). Let's just say that it involves level after level of shooting increasingly strong aliens using more and more powerful weapons. The plot of the multiplayer is similar, only with the added layer of teenagers vigorously reading from a thesaurus of racial slurs.

The Halo series exists in rare air in the video game industry along with the likes of the Mario, Zelda and Grand Theft Auto franchises, in that the release of a new game grosses the kind of money rarely matched by any product launch--Reach grossed a mind-boggling $200 million its first day. In the middle of a worldwide economic collapse.

No win No fee Accident Claims & Selachodamorphy

No win no fee accident claims are going to be the focus of today's entry, in light of a new choad word to describe the sometimes unfortunate experiences of dealing with a lawyer. Contrary to popular belief, not all lawyers are entirely money hungry.
Some are genuinely out there to help people with their legal battles.
If the work is not done pro bono, many lawyers can often be of help in the form of a no win no fee system. No win no fee accident claims are just that... if you do not win your case, then you do not have to pay any fees.
But just like a shark, lawyers have to eat. So, even though they're not always after your money, it's not all just for the shiggles that they do this. Obviously, lawyers aren't made out of money.
Most often, the tastiest bait with no win no fee accident claims is the fact that the likelihood of a win far outweighs the likelihood of a loss.
Makes sense...
After all, why would a shark go after prey if it knows already that it will lose the battle and be feasted upon by some other predator?
So, that brings us to the topic of selachodamorphy (derived from choda + selachimorpha meaning "sharkbastard" or, more loosely, "dumb shark"). I love this word because it sounds like "sell a choda morphine"). Selachodamorphy exists for no win no fee accident claims, and almost any sort of legal case, but the difference is that the financial burden never rests with you as the client.
Why? Because...
Selachodamorphy describes ruthless, cruel, greedy, or money hungry actions which are executed or carried out in some dumb, idiotic way.
Thus, something that is selachodamorphic can often describe the actions of an idiotic poker player (i.e. a "donkey") or an idiotic lawyer, e.g. the type of lawyer who takes on a no win no fee accident claim, or any case for that matter, knowing full well that they'll lose the case. We've already established, though, that a no win no fee lawyer will probably not take a case if the chances of winning are grim.
We'll expand on variants of these terms later, but... for now, it was appropriate to merely focus on how selachodamorphy relates to no win no fee claims.
NO WIN, NO FEE, NO SELACHODAMORPHY!

Safe Browsing on Blogger

Safe Browsing on Blogger

National Cyber-Security Awareness Month
is here once again. In that spirit we wanted to share a bit about what
we are doing on Blogger to help fight malicious content, along with some
tips for a safer browsing experience online. While spammers are always
coming up with new tricks, the combination of Blogger’s abuse-fighting
systems and the security features of modern browsers helps ensure that
you’ll be able to browse through your favorite blog content with
confidence.

We’ve
partnered with other abuse-fighting teams within Google to develop
sophisticated systems for automatically detecting and quarantining
nefarious content on Blogspot. Over the years, our teams have analyzed
the patterns and behavior of malicious blogs and code, and with each new
detection our existing algorithms are trained for better coverage in
the future. As a result, we are able to catch and quarantine thousands
of malicious blogs each year, and are happy to say that our overall spam
levels are at an all-time low across our service.

Of
course, while our automated systems provide great coverage for a wide
variety of abuse types, you can always let us know about suspicious
blogs by
reporting them directly to us
via our online form. We’re also looking to you, the users, to be our
eyes on the web and let us know anything that may have escaped our
existing systems.

Beyond
partnering with us on the detection process, you can also make a
difference in your own online security by taking advantage of your
browser’s built-in security. Modern browsers have powerful security
features that can detect potentially malicious sites and alert you
should you stumble upon them. Using technology like Google’s
Safe Browsing
tools, users of many browsers see warning screens when attempting to
visit sites that automated systems have determined to contain suspicious
content. To make sure you have the latest and most secure browser
version, please check out the following browser sites:

We also recommend using one of the following tools to keep your browser plug-ins up to date: Google-developed SecBrowsing; Mozilla Plugin Check.

For more tips on safe browsing and security on the web, check out the home of Cyber Security Awareness Month at the http://staysafeonline.org/.

I don't even know how to form a proper segue for this

So there's the mandatory picture of the day. I'll try to update with some actual content later today.
