La Quinta Inn

Recently, I stayed at the La Quinta Inn in New York, NY. The La Quinta Inn is located on 32nd Street between Broadway and 5th Ave. It is very close to the Empire State building, Macy's, Penn Station, and Madison Square Garden. As far as amenities go, the La Quinta Inn has them all. High speed wifi, free breakfast, free calls within the US, laundry service, and the list just goes on and on.

I posted about this hotel before but I felt it deserved another post because it's just so goddamn awesome. Seriously.

How to clean a PS3

Dusty fans can greatly affect a console's performance. They also generate a vexatiously louder than usual noise emanating from your powerful machine. If you want to keep things nice and tidy and/or want your fans running smoother, you'll want to have a quick look at this clip.

It's basically a video instruction about running a fan test on your PS3 which also blows out the dust and essentially cleaning it up. What's nice is there's very little effort involved, so you can actually do this every day. Just a warning though, it's only for 40GB models -- doing this on other models will cause the unit to explode nothing to happen.

The Right Way to travel

Forget about your fellow passengers on the plane. Who cares if you have to be on the plane with them for 5~6 hours, you're the only one who's important, especially on a flight that leaves at 10 PM.

First, you'll need as many items as possible. I'm thinking a suitcase, backpack and a massive yet very ugly pillow.

First up, do not acknowledge the person sitting next to you. If you want to look out the window, assuming you didn't get the window seat, lean over the person. Sure, you never met them before, but who cares.

Once you are allowed to use electronic devices, take out your Macbook (because we all know if you're reading this as a real guide, you have a Mac) and be sure to have the brightness on your display all the way up. The person trying to sleep next to you won't mind one bit.

(At this point, I take out my netbook and watch a few shows because there's no way I'm going to be able to sleep with that dick next to me. He fucking leaned over me 5 times in the first 30 minutes of flight!)

After landing, be sure to take forever to gather your belongings and leave the plane. The person next to you is in no rush to stand up and stretch after sitting for around 6 hours.

Also, make sure to fly AA.

LinkedIn Resume Builder Takes the Hassle Out of Updating Your Resume

Thought I'd share this lifehacker article with you guys. Enjoy.

LinkedIn Resume Builder Takes the Hassle Out of Updating Your ResumeIt's difficult enough keeping your resume up-to-date, let alone keeping it in sync with your LinkedIn profile. To help, LinkedIn Labs offers a new way to automate the resume-building process.
Using one of their many preset templates, generating a beautiful resume now only takes a few short clicks. Using these templates will automatically input your previous work experience, and all data associated with it, into properly formatted categories and lists.
Open text fields let you fill in the blanks with more detailed skills, honors, and associations. Users retain full control over the resume's outline and can edit, add, or remove parts at will. LinkedIn hosts previous versions of your resume and makes it easy to share your resume publicly, online, or by saving it as a PDF. It also provides a nice selection of fonts, simple templates. If you're looking to simplify your resume-building process and like to use LinkedIn, it's a tool worth checking out.

I'm back

I'm finally done with all the work that has been piling up. I figured I'd share a joke with you guys and hopefully I'll have something substantial to share with you guys soon.

A balloonist is floating along and suddenly realizes he is lost. He lowers his altitude and notices a man in the field below him. He calls out to him saying: "Excuse me, but I am lost. Could you tell me where I am?"
The man below answers, "You are 50 feet in the air hovering above a field."
The balloonist says: "You must be in Information Technology."
"I am," says the man. "How did you know?"
"Well, everything you said is technically correct, but it is of no use to anyone," says the balloonist.
"You must be in Management," says the man.
"How did you know that?", asks the balloonist.
The man answers: "You are floating around with no idea where you are or where you are going, and you expect me to help. You are in the same position you were when we met, but now its' my fault."

Last post

This will be my only update for a while since I'll be busy. I'll be back in 3 days.

Don't make the mistake I made this semester; I was confident enough to think I can breeze through MicroBio, Anatomy and Physiology, Pathophysiology, and an upper level Nursing course. Needless to say, life sucks at the moment. I'll continue updating once this semester decides to die!

Plus I'm working with a Malpractice Injury Lawyer, and it's a pretty tough job. I have to manage payments and all that. I'm not really learning as much about medical as much as I thought I would at this job, but thats okay!

Orly Taitz

Most people have had the unfortunate experience of running into that sore loser who always wants rematch after rematch after rematch, but just keeps on losing and losing and losing and losing and ... well ... you get the picture. It happens in gaming all the time. Video games, card games, board games, you name it.
Obviously, it also happens in the courtroom.
By now, most o' ya's should know bits and pieces about infamous dentist and selachodamorph
Orly Taitz. One of my honourable followers said she should be made into an internet meme, but... the "orly" movement has already begun!
So yeah ... that said, on to more hilarity.
Selachodamorphic failure (pron. sell-a-choda-morfik fayl-yuhr) is a neologism deriving fromselachimorpha (meaning "shark", fig. "lawyer") + choad + epic failure. It is synonymous with chodal failure and can be used figuratively for when a hard-headed, argumentative person continually fights losing battles either out of ignorance or stupidity or both.
Since we're on a legal streak this week and mid-term elections just scraped American noses, might as well see what one of these selachodamorphic failures looks like.
Here is attorney Orly Taitz in action:

Oh no, Halo Reach

Halo: Reach is the sixth game in the Halo franchise which, like most video game franchises, stops numbering sequel titles at some arbitrary point and starts inserting random words after a colon instead. So for instance the first sequel was called Halo 2, then there was Halo 3, then they decided to mix things up with Halo 3: ODST. Also there was an RTS called Halo Wars, even though all Halo games are about wars. But we digress.

We don't want to spoil the plot of the single-player mode, though Halo: Reach is a prequel to the original Halo, so if you have played any of the previous games you sort of know the ending (SPOILER: THE GOOD GUYS EVENTUALLY WIN). Let's just say that it involves level after level of shooting increasingly strong aliens using more and more powerful weapons. The plot of the multiplayer is similar, only with the added layer of teenagers vigorously reading from a thesaurus of racial slurs.

The Halo series exists in rare air in the video game industry along with the likes of the Mario, Zelda and Grand Theft Auto franchises, in that the release of a new game grosses the kind of money rarely matched by any product launch--Reach grossed a mind-boggling $200 million its first day. In the middle of a worldwide economic collapse.

No win No fee Accident Claims & Selachodamorphy

No win no fee accident claims are going to be the focus of today's entry, in light of a new choad word to describe the sometimes unfortunate experiences of dealing with a lawyer. Contrary to popular belief, not all lawyers are entirely money hungry.
Some are genuinely out there to help people with their legal battles.
If the work is not done pro bono, many lawyers can often be of help in the form of a no win no fee system. No win no fee accident claims are just that... if you do not win your case, then you do not have to pay any fees.
But just like a shark, lawyers have to eat. So, even though they're not always after your money, it's not all just for the shiggles that they do this. Obviously, lawyers aren't made out of money.
Most often, the tastiest bait with no win no fee accident claims is the fact that the likelihood of a win far outweighs the likelihood of a loss.
Makes sense...
After all, why would a shark go after prey if it knows already that it will lose the battle and be feasted upon by some other predator?
So, that brings us to the topic of selachodamorphy (derived from choda + selachimorpha meaning "sharkbastard" or, more loosely, "dumb shark"). I love this word because it sounds like "sell a choda morphine"). Selachodamorphy exists for no win no fee accident claims, and almost any sort of legal case, but the difference is that the financial burden never rests with you as the client.
Why? Because...
Selachodamorphy describes ruthless, cruel, greedy, or money hungry actions which are executed or carried out in some dumb, idiotic way.
Thus, something that is selachodamorphic can often describe the actions of an idiotic poker player (i.e. a "donkey") or an idiotic lawyer, e.g. the type of lawyer who takes on a no win no fee accident claim, or any case for that matter, knowing full well that they'll lose the case. We've already established, though, that a no win no fee lawyer will probably not take a case if the chances of winning are grim.
We'll expand on variants of these terms later, but... for now, it was appropriate to merely focus on how selachodamorphy relates to no win no fee claims.
NO WIN, NO FEE, NO SELACHODAMORPHY!

Safe Browsing on Blogger

Safe Browsing on Blogger

National Cyber-Security Awareness Month
is here once again. In that spirit we wanted to share a bit about what
we are doing on Blogger to help fight malicious content, along with some
tips for a safer browsing experience online. While spammers are always
coming up with new tricks, the combination of Blogger’s abuse-fighting
systems and the security features of modern browsers helps ensure that
you’ll be able to browse through your favorite blog content with
confidence.

We’ve
partnered with other abuse-fighting teams within Google to develop
sophisticated systems for automatically detecting and quarantining
nefarious content on Blogspot. Over the years, our teams have analyzed
the patterns and behavior of malicious blogs and code, and with each new
detection our existing algorithms are trained for better coverage in
the future. As a result, we are able to catch and quarantine thousands
of malicious blogs each year, and are happy to say that our overall spam
levels are at an all-time low across our service.

Of
course, while our automated systems provide great coverage for a wide
variety of abuse types, you can always let us know about suspicious
blogs by
reporting them directly to us
via our online form. We’re also looking to you, the users, to be our
eyes on the web and let us know anything that may have escaped our
existing systems.

Beyond
partnering with us on the detection process, you can also make a
difference in your own online security by taking advantage of your
browser’s built-in security. Modern browsers have powerful security
features that can detect potentially malicious sites and alert you
should you stumble upon them. Using technology like Google’s
Safe Browsing
tools, users of many browsers see warning screens when attempting to
visit sites that automated systems have determined to contain suspicious
content. To make sure you have the latest and most secure browser
version, please check out the following browser sites:

We also recommend using one of the following tools to keep your browser plug-ins up to date: Google-developed SecBrowsing; Mozilla Plugin Check.

For more tips on safe browsing and security on the web, check out the home of Cyber Security Awareness Month at the http://staysafeonline.org/.

I don't even know how to form a proper segue for this

So there's the mandatory picture of the day. I'll try to update with some actual content later today.
